Wall Arrival & Setup Begins

The Wall That Heals arrives at White County Fairgrounds. Setup crew and volunteers begin preparation work. This is a working day, not open to the public.

Construction & Preparation

Professional crew works with local volunteers to construct The Wall replica and set up the Education Center. Site preparation and logistics coordination.

Visitors may access the Mobile Education Center at any time to explore Vietnam War history, view artifacts, and search. Volunteer docents will be on-site during the day to offer guidance, answer questions and help search the database.

Welcome Home Ceremony

Official opening ceremony featuring local dignitaries, veterans organizations, color guard presentation, National Anthem, and remarks honoring Vietnam veterans. This powerful ceremony marks the beginning of the exhibit.

Final Hours of Visitation

Last opportunity for the public to visit The Wall That Heals during its stay in Reynolds. The Wall remains open through early afternoon.

Closing Ceremony

Formal closing ceremony to honor all who visited, volunteered, and were remembered during the exhibit. Includes final remarks, presentation of colors, and closing tributes.

Teardown

The Wall will be dismantled and packed beginning at 2:00 PM. The exhibit will be prepared for transport to its next destination.

Light The Night Ceremony

This ceremony serves as the Friday evening candlelight vigil and Light The Night event, with Music Taps (and an option for bagpipes), reflection, and a solemn tribute at The Wall.

Guest Speaker Series

Vietnam veterans, historians, and VVMF representatives share stories and historical context. Educational presentations open to the public throughout the exhibit duration.

What to Expect

The mobile Education Center The 53-foot trailer that carries The Wall That Heals transforms to become a mobile Education Center. The exterior of the trailer features a timeline of “The War and The Wall” and provides additional information about the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Additional exhibits give visitors a better understanding of the legacy of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the collection of items left at The Wall.

The exhibit is fully accessible to individuals with disabilities. Accessible parking and assistance are available. Contact us in advance for specific accommodations.

Weather Considerations

The Wall That Heals is an outdoor exhibit and remains open in all weather conditions. Visitors should dress appropriately for the weather. Covered areas are available.

Photography

Personal photography is permitted and encouraged. Please be respectful of other visitors and maintain the solemn nature of the memorial.

No Admission Fee

The exhibit is completely free and open to all. No tickets or advance registration required for general visitation (group tours require advance booking).
