We are thrilled--and truly honored--to announce that White County has been selected to host The Wall That Heals. Initiated by the Women Giving Together Fund committee at the Community Foundation of White County, this unique opportunity now has been joined by veterans organizations, residents, Vietnam families, community leaders, education professionals, and more.
The Wall That Heals honors the 58,281 service members who lost their lives and all who served defending our country during the Vietnam War. A traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC., the exhibit consists of The Wall replica and the Mobile Education Center. This three-quarter scale replica is 375 feet long and stands 7.5 feet high at its tallest point.
The exhibit is free to the public and will be on display at the White County Fairgrounds in Reynolds, Indiana. It will be open 24 hours a day beginning Thursday, June 4, 2026 and close Sunday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. Special ceremonies will be part of the White County experience. We expect visitors from throughout northern Indiana and are eager to welcome them with open, empathic arms and hearts.
Bringing The Wall That Heals to our community is more than an event--it's an act of honor, remembrance and unity; a powerful opportunity to educate our youth, and a reminder of our commitment to ensure that no service member ever again returns without the gratitude of a grateful nation.
We ask that you help spread the word about this very special event, including the need for volunteers to help staff the 24-hour display.
Additionally, we ask that you consider sponsorship of this event. Total expenses are estimated to be $30,000, so your support is important. Though this began in White County, it is an area-wide initiative. Information is enclosed.
