Guided Tours

What to Expect During Your Visit
Upon Arrival
You'll be greeted by volunteers who will provide orientation materials and answer initial questions. For scheduled tours, check in at the designated meeting point.
The Wall Experience
Walk along the 375-foot replica, view all 58,281 names, locate specific names using the directory, and make pencil rubbings if desired.
Education Center
Along the outside of the 53-foot mobile trailer, explore exhibits, monitors, and a timeline about the Vietnam War, view artifacts and photos, and learn about POW/MIA efforts.
Ceremonial Space
A quiet area for reflection and attending ceremonies. Benches and shade available.
Respectful Atmosphere
This is a memorial. Visitors are asked to maintain a respectful demeanor, speak quietly, and be mindful of others who are grieving or reflecting.
Duration
Self-guided visits typically last 30-90 minutes. Docent tours are approximately 45 minutes.
Accessibility
The entire exhibit is wheelchair accessible with paved pathways. Accessible parking is available near the entrance. Service animals are welcome. Please contact us in advance if you have specific accessibility needs.
Photography
Personal photography is permitted and encouraged. Please be respectful of other visitors and maintain the solemn atmosphere of the memorial. Flash photography is discouraged near visitors who are grieving.
Weather
The Wall That Heals is an outdoor memorial. Dress appropriately for weather conditions. Covered areas and seating are available. The exhibit remains open in all weather, including rain.

Age-Appropriate Content
Our programs are tailored to different age groups. Elementary programs focus on honoring service and the memorial's purpose. Middle and high youth programs include more detailed historical content about the war, draft, and home front.
Group Requirements
One adult chaperone required per 10 students. All participants must remain with their group. Bus parking will be coordinated in advance.

Visitor Guidelines
Ensuring a respectful experience for all
Please Do:
- Speak quietly and respectfully
- Supervise children at all times
- Make pencil rubbings of names
- Take photographs (respectfully)
- Leave flowers or small tributes
- Attend ceremonies and events
- Ask volunteers for assistance: Volunteers will use the directory, website or simple app to easily locate names for visitors.
Please Don't:
- Make ink rubbings or use markers
- Run, shout, or behave disruptively
- Eat, drink, or smoke near The Wall
- Bring pets (except service animals)
- Leave permanent markers or vandalize
- Use flash photography near grieving visitors
- Block access to The Wall or panels
